Tips & tricks for a multi-channel approach

Multi channeling: this is how you do it

By using a multi-channel approach, you actually create a greater reach. It is important not to just 'publish' the same thing on multiple channels. Every channel needs its own approach. Here are some tips & tricks to make your multi-channel approach successful.

Keep your eye on the customer

Regardless of the channel you use, the profile of your target group (s) remains the same overall. Of course, keep in mind that not every prospect or customer is in the same phase of the customer journey (awareness, consideration, purchase, service, retention). You must match both your message and channel to the knowledge and profile of the recipient.

Be consistent

Keep your message clear. It is not because you use different channels that the approach of your message must be different. Your objective and corporate identity therefore always remain the same. Your style and the content of your message must therefore be used consistently for a reinforcing effect.

Timing is crucial

It is very important that you coordinate the timing and content of your communication with each other per channel. So keep track of where your (potential) customer is in the decision-making process. If your customer is only in the awareness phase, you do not have to overwhelm him with all kinds of detailed information about your product or service.

Choose the right mix

Your communication strategy consists of all kinds of ingredients that together form the ideal cocktail. The channels that you use to communicate your message are an important basis for this. Consider per channel whether this is useful and fits within the budget provided. For example, a radio spot is nice, but is it useful and does it fit within the budget? The point is that you weigh and weigh. What are the priorities? Is the choice for one channel detrimental to the other? What about the expected ROI in relation to the goals set?

The benefits of a multi-channel approach

All well and good, but what are the benefits of a multi-channel approach?

More targeted communication

Prospects have expectations when they search for information via a certain route. By properly coordinating your message and the channel, you can communicate in a more targeted way according to the expectations of your customer.

Reinforcing effect

The use of multiple channels can have a reinforcing effect on each other. If your potential customer comes to you via different touchpoints, more and more information and stimulation will be provided to take action. This is advantageous for your product but also increases your brand awareness.

Greater reach

The more varied the channels used, the greater the reach of your message. Do not use them, of course, but see where your target group is.

Easier to measure

Your multi-channel efforts are also easily measurable. Of course, everything is well-coordinated and used in the right way.
